Free (no box) no support (change password, close account...)

Hello,
I have had a free email address for a very long time, in "public access" from the 56k era (lol), without any box (which did not exist at the time).

I would like to delete this email account (webmail and not zimbra) that I never use, and noticing that it is being used in any way by someone I don't know (messages are addressed to people I don't know - and I’m not even talking about spam), I would at least like to start by changing the password for security reasons.

However:
-> no free support exists anymore (unless you are a freebox subscriber, which I am not): you systematically end up on "log in" or "create an account": so it is impossible to get any information if you don't have a box
-> I found nothing to change the password. I randomly indicated "forgot password" hoping to be able to reset it, but it asks me for (besides the email identifier) the original postal code used to create the account !!! I give it to them, although I haven't lived there for 10 years, and it replies "ok, your credentials will be sent to you by mail" !!!!! No chance of receiving this mail at an old address!

I’m completely shocked!!!
Do you have any idea how to change the password? (without freebox, I remind you). And is there any possibility to delete this email account (which they never close themselves, even after years of inactivity), other than by registered letter?

Thank you for any insights you might have...

With the password, management does not take place on webmail, but through the subscriber area, by providing account: xxx@free.fr + password

    https://subscribe.free.fr/login/

There we can manage everything, including deletion.

Thank you again, but I wrote it three times in my message: I am NOT subscribed to Free, I do not have a Freebox, I just have a "libre" email address: I only have access to the "webmail Free: address / password" dialog box that allows me to access the mailbox. And that's it.

no, you have to go through https://subscribe.free.fr/login/, you shouldn't rely on its title, the webmail only manages messaging, not the account

that's how I access my free email account created during the PSTN era
