Profile missing... and not found!

Hello,
I am an experienced user for years, but following the automatic update of Windows 10, my Firefox profile has suddenly disappeared.
I get the classic message "profile missing, etc."
I have looked in the User/.../Roaming/etc folder and it doesn't appear. There is just a "default-release" profile that, at best, allows me to open Firefox with a new profile... I searched everywhere on C: and there's no trace of my old profile ("my name"), which is proposed by the Firefox Profile Manager, but it fails to open...
I tried copying/pasting an old backed-up profile (better than nothing), renaming it "my name" or not, and connecting via Sync to recover my data.
It's not working... Was it even worth it to synchronize!
Help please !!!
Configuration: Windows / Edge 88.0.705.63

Hello
the directory seems to contain data without specifying my first name :
did you enter the email address and password of your account to reconnect FFx to your profile?

Mark as resolved if your problem has been solved. I use the informal 'tu' with everyone. -
Well, I found a solution.
Fortunately, I had kept my old SSD with W7 that I replaced with another one with W10 in December 2019.
Previously, I had tried to copy the entire profile folder (with the profile.ini file) from the old one to the new one, but Firefox opens a new profile for each user...
It advised us to use Sync, thanks...
So I booted my PC on the old SSD and opened Firefox as before to activate Sync with my account that I had already created back then.
I then restarted on the new SSD, deleted the existing Firefox profiles, as well as profile.ini, then opened Firefox which asked me to log in to Sync and retrieved my data.
So that means my data hadn't been backed up by Sync as I thought...
I just lost a year of backups, but the main thing is there!
One day for that, thanks to the Windows 10 update :/
You have to wonder if it wouldn't suit them for us to switch to Edge...
Hoping to be helpful to the community!

Same problem. Last night I closed Firefox, turned off the PC as usual and this morning "missing profile" and unable to open Firefox....great... In profiles, I have default release and another default. I'm going to check if I had an old backup on the hard drive, but I don't think so. So I've lost several years of data on Firefox. Thanks to the Windows 10 update ^^' At least they're probably happy at Microsoft, to search for this information I’m using "Microsoft Edge." For once I'm actually opening it... ^^

Yes, the same goes for me, but the bookmarks folder is empty or almost so, for example. The size of the folder is smaller than an old backup that it doesn't want to load. It's not the right folder that is set by default.
Yes, I synced my account, but it's as if nothing was saved. I have the impression that this option is more designed for navigating from a PC to a mobile device, but not for restoring data.
Thank you for your help.
