Mouse cursor bug/freeze on Windows 10 Solved

Question

Hello, here’s my problem: My mouse cursor is glitching and freezing at times as if my PC is lagging badly, except that I have a pretty good setup (RTX 3060 Ti, Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM 3200Mhz). I really don’t know where this is coming from, help!

I wonder if this isn't yet another annoyance related to Windows update. There are several articles on this topic. (unstable mouse windows 10 after windows update)
I'll check the American forums, there's more information to be found...

2) Disable the ATI HotKey Poller service. Many users have also reported that ATI Catalyst drivers, including an ATI HotKey Poller service, can cause mouse lag in certain system configurations. If you don’t need ATI keyboard shortcuts, just disable this service. Here’s how to do it:

a) Press the Windows key and R simultaneously, type services.msc, and press Enter.

b) Locate the ATI HotKey Poller service on the right side of the window. Then double-click it.

c) You will be in the Properties window. Change the startup type to Disabled. Then click Apply and OK.

d) Restart your computer.

3) Do not use USB hubs to connect your mouse. Connect your mouse and keyboard directly to your computer via the ports at the back of your computer to ensure you get the best performance.

I came back sometime later, everything works perfectly just by changing the location of the USB dongle of my mouse (it didn’t work before, though). Thanks for helping me.
