Hello,
I accidentally overwrote my PowerPoint presentation that I spent 5 days creating.
I found some temporary files ".tmp" but I can't open them with PowerPoint. I've scoured the forums but none of the solutions worked:
- changing the file extension from temp to pptx and trying to open it with PowerPoint
- no previous versions of my file
- nothing in PowerPoint's saved "cache" files
It's not a file named "pptxxxx.tmp"; here is the name of the file:
so I don't know if it's a valid temporary PowerPoint file

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello
We do not "transform" a tmp file into a pptx or something else...
We simply change the tmp extension to pptx and pray that it works ;-)
See you later

If this answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)

Hello
Unfortunately, this has happened to all of us at least once.
You can also change the auto-save delay in the recording window (or the File menu, Options, Save) under "Tools", "Save Options"...
See you!
