3D acceleration issues World of Warcraft

Hello,
it’s been 3 days now that I can’t play World of Warcraft because every time I launch it, I get “World of Warcraft could not start 3D acceleration. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c is installed and that your graphics drivers are up to date.”
For DirectX, I’m sure I have the latest version, I think I’ve updated the graphics drivers (Catalyst 7.9), but I believe after I ran > run > dxdiag > display > test Direct3D that’s what is causing the issue.
For your info, I have an ATI Radeon 9600.

    Hello,
    I had the same problem, so I got rid of the 7.9 and went back to the 7.8 and everything works perfectly again. I also have a 9600. You can tell that ATI really rushed their drivers just for the release of Quake Wars...

    I’ve experienced the same issue.
    The newer versions don’t work with my Radeon 9550.
    The worst part is that the older versions don’t work either! My original version, 6.9, didn’t solve anything.

    Finally, I found a version that works for me: 7.1

      I can't be of much help to you. I can just say that I had problems with some games AFTER updating my graphics card driver and my Windows XP. I resolved the issue by reinstalling an older version of the graphics driver. But there is still one of my games that refuses to work, and I don't know why.

    Hi, I have exactly the same issue with a standard Intel VGA graphics card. First, I would like to know how to update it, and also if this card is compatible above all ^^ I downloaded the latest DirectX.
