How to copy hidden records from a Freebox external disk?

Hello,

I have an updated Freebox Revolution with an internal hard drive in the TV Box + an external hard drive connected via USB to the Freebox.
Of course, I record all possible channels: TF1, France 2, Canal, Eurosport, ... and only some recordings are visible in the recordings folder due to protections on certain channels.
That's fine.

However, my external hard drive comes from an old laptop, is formatted in NTFS with 3 partitions (including Recovery from the old PC) and has not been fully reformatted, so it retains these 3 partitions.
I have been advised to completely reformat this drive to EXT4.

QUESTION: I want to back up all recordings, even the non-visible ones, before reformatting. The goal is not to recover copyright-protected files but to reformat the drive.

Is there a solution to back up all recordings (even those non-visible) before reformatting? Or even to clone a single partition to another drive?

Thank you for your help and for sharing your experiences on this topic.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 86.0.4240.198

    Hi,
I didn't quite understand your question:

Partition wildly or back up invisible files?

My question was simply: how can I reformat my external disk without losing the recordings on it, encrypted or not ...

In the end, I just did some tests and apparently, when you record from a "protected" channel, like TF1, M6, or Canal, the recording goes necessarily to the internal disk in a location labeled "unknown."
So the recordings from these channels, which I thought I had made on the external disk, are actually on the internal disk even if I choose the external disk in the recording options!
So that solves my problem because I only have recordings on the external disk that I can copy/paste elsewhere before reformatting.

      OK,
but before formatting, it will be necessary to repartition.

OK it's done ... partitions deleted and reformatted from the Freebox interface.

      In ext4?
Be careful, the disk will no longer be readable on Windows, only with Linux, I don't know about Mac.

Yes, but it's for a disk that will be permanently connected to the Freebox, and the support team told me that I need to format it in EXT4. It might be because it was in NTFS that the recordings of the "protected" channels were not made on this external disk.

      No, probably not,
it's just for some dark legal issues regarding rights holders on the broadcasts:
the recordings must not be copyable, no fuss.
Nothing to do with technology, at least not directly.
