Setting up my landline phone

Hello,

I have the Free Révolution box.

I had a duo phone that broke, and I just bought another duo Gigaset AS690A, but I can't get it to work.

I followed the Free instructions: plug the telephone adapter (RJ11 <-> female wall jack) into the Telephone port at the back of the Freebox.
On this adapter, which looks like a wall telephone socket, plug in the male connector of your landline phone.

However, I used the old male cable from my previous Siemens Gigaset phone.
Should I buy a new male cable for this new phone?
Or, is this phone not compatible with Free's fiber optic service?
Thank you in advance for your help, I'm lost with this problem.
Best regards

Hello,

You do not need to retrieve the old cable. The one that comes with your new phone is perfectly fine.

You can use the "T-Plug / RJ11 Plug" adapter provided by Free, but it is not required.
The photo shows a removable male T-plug. If this is the case with yours, remove it and use only the cable with RJ11 plugs (to the left in the image).

Make sure you connect it correctly to the Freebox.

Thank you for your response
but I'm not very skilled: Please confirm if I should
remove the T socket from FREE
and connect my phone directly to the FREEBOX only with the telephone cord provided with the phone.

So I am not following Free's instructions:
-Connect the telephone adapter (RJ11 <-> female wall socket) to the Telephone port at the back of the Freebox.
-On this adapter, similar to a wall telephone socket, connect the male plug of your landline phone.
Best regards
Fanny

If the cable provided with your phone is the one on the left in the first image, you do not need to use the adapter provided by Free. Connect the base of the phone to the box with this cable.
