TV making cracking noises even when off

Hello, I actually thought my TV was possessed lol!!! But I took it more seriously when it was unplugged, so I’m telling you it’s false; it’s not overheating or the plastic cracking or expanding, etc….. because it was waking me up in the middle of the night as if it was sending me magnetic waves or something, but it’s a weird effect; technology is beyond us. I assure you I'm not joking; I’m a very rational person and I like what is rational, but I admit this leaves me perplexed because if it did that when it was on or turned off shortly after, okay! But that’s not the case; I unplugged it as well as the antenna for two weeks and it continued anyway, so when I go to bed I put it in another room because these crackling noises annoy me and prevent me from sleeping and wake me up in the middle of the night.
My TV is a 99cm Thompson.

Hello,

In my relative knowledge of horror films and recreational cosmogony, this is called a poltergeist, a malevolent spirit residing in a house or an object. Japanese filmmakers are great specialists in this, but to my knowledge, there are none among the usual contributors of CCM.

Although... thinking about it. I prefer not to think about it.

Seriously, since you are, what do you expect from a forum?

That there’s a mage capable of doing distant healing through hands?

That users claim to have solved the same problems with an application of the Abbé Souris's Elixir of Youth?

I don't doubt for a moment the troubles you're experiencing, but in your place:

1) I would have these phenomena verified by a third party

2) I would put the haunted television in the basement or in the shed at the back of the garden, until I regain a bit of serenity.

3) I would consider taking it to the after-sales service of my retailer where they can detect any extraterrestrial manifestations with an oscilloscope.

Best regards

Lol!! No, I'm just looking to see if others have encountered this problem; I was responding to those who indeed have, mentioning that it was the heat, etc... But that's not the case; a TV cannot overheat or the plastic expand when cooling down after being unplugged for several days without any power. And now I realize that when I tried to respond, it was as if I was asking a question, wrong manipulation since the thread was closed. It's the first time I've left a comment in a forum. In any case, thank you, and what about you? You haven't encountered this problem; it's quite ironic in your response, I'm not upset, lol, but it reassures me to know I'm not the only one bothered by this enough to lose sleep or wake up in the middle of the night with a not-so-pleasant feeling...

Hello,

Thank you for the link. It confirms, as I suspected, that it's a plastic issue, as some participants believe. However, it remains bothersome, I agree.

It's my excellent Samsung fridge that is making quite loud popping noises when it is running, but there are no issues whatsoever with my over 10-year-old Panasonic Plasma TV.

As I sincerely mentioned, I do not doubt for a moment the troubles you are experiencing, please forgive me for the somewhat teasing tone, which was only meant to lighten the mood, especially since I didn't have the context as you explained.

There is no doubt that this is a material problem that reacts to temperature changes, which all owners of this model must face, but statistically, it's not clear that they read this topic. As for whether the manufacturer has fixed it...

I wish you a good Sunday.

There’s no problem, I didn’t take it the wrong way,
I conclude that there shouldn’t be any concerns on that side, so even when off and unplugged, the temperature variations in the room can cause the plastic to expand and create those creaking sounds
thank you for the answers provided, I also wish you a good Sunday.

Hello,

No, it is not mounted on a wall; it is placed on a TV stand. It is 99 cm and quite heavy for a flat-screen TV, so I didn’t take the risk.
Thank you for your response,
