Hello,
right now my Internet connection, usually "correct" for ADSL ( :'( ), is absolutely disastrous.
- I can't watch YouTube videos in quality higher than 360p without interruptions.
- Some websites (not to say all) load into the void.
- My ping while playing online games reaches heights higher than those of the Himalayas.
In short, I've decided to change my mobile plan to try tethering in 4G. It works much better, but I'm wondering about data consumption.
If I watch 2 hours of videos a day (that's an estimate), play for 4 hours (similarly), and browse for 2 hours (always the same), my question is: in your opinion, what would my data consumption be if I tethered at this pace for a month?
My provider just gave me a month free with 100 GB of data, and I subscribed to a plan with 80 GB starting in early December.
I'll quickly see if this can work like that, but I'd like to know a bit in advance if this is a solution that can work and if I'm at risk of exceeding the future 80 GB of my plan.
Thank you for your help.

Hello
Unfortunately, only your usage habits over several months could give an indication of your average data consumption.
For example, a 1080p HD streaming video can be around 3 GB/hour (rough estimate). So 1 hour of HD video per day for 20 days = 60 GB (that's a very rough estimate)... And a 4K streaming video is about 7 GB/hour
So, still roughly for 1 hour:
SD video = 700 MB, Social media = 156 MB, Online music = 150 MB, Live gaming = 60 MB, Web browsing = 10-25 MB.
Most smartphones offer a data management feature where you can set your limit to avoid exceeding your plan.
See you!

If this answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)
Let he who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse.

I also think it's hard to quantify, and the best thing is to give it a try and see what happens. By the way, I will still keep track of my consumption as it goes. It could be interesting to have this kind of info.
