Hello,
my machine has a static IP (192.168.0.1) behind a Freebox Revolution. I've set up an FTP server. It works when I connect to 127.0.0.1 but not when I connect to my Freebox's internet address. I've redirected port 21 on FreeboxOS and on my account on the Free website.
Do you think of anything I could check?
Thank you.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 82.0

Hello,
Are you testing the disconnection from another local network? Because it is common, depending on the ISP, for calls from the local network to its own internet IP not to work.
Does your FTP also work on 192.168.0.1?

I have a VPN subscription so I tried through the VPN and it doesn't work. On 192.168.0.1, it works. If I understood correctly, it goes through the Freebox before connecting back to the machine. Is that right?
I also have a VPS and from there, it doesn't work either.

Normally on the Freebox, you just need to redirect the incoming WAN TCP port 21 to the LAN port 21 of the IP of the FTP server.
I don't know what the impacts of VPNs and VPSs could be.

But there are two possibilities: accessing the Freebox via FreeboxOS or through the management console on the Free website. What’s the difference?
Hi jee pee,
Yes, the Free website is still useful if, like me, you want to manage your traffic through a gateway/firewall. On the Free website, you need to declare a DMZ and set up port forwarding to the DMZ.
Another thing to check, this time in FreeboxOS, is the allocated port range ;-\
Indeed, Free is running low on IPv4 addresses, so they now split the port ranges into 4 among subscribers for the same IP address ;-(
Normally, this was supposed to only affect new subscribers, but earlier this year I was unpleasantly surprised one morning to see my range reduced. I then had to request a "full-stack fixed IPv4 address" ;-\
So things to check:
