Hello,

Is it possible to take control of my personal PC via remote desktop, but it is behind my Freebox in router mode?
Are there ports to forward on the box?
Thanks for any info

Config:
Windows XP PRO SP2
Freebox V4 in router mode

Yes you can do it, you just need to open port 3389 in TCP on your Freebox

Did you check if you have enabled remote access? To do so: Right-click Computer -> Properties, Remote Access (or Remote), and check the "Remote Desktop" box. Also select the proper users.

Hi, on a local network you need to connect via Remote Desktop by entering the physical IP address, i.e. your 192.168.0.xxx address.

"enter the physical IP address, i.e., your address 192.168.0.xxx"
-> that's the IP address, the physical address or MAC address is not in that format ;-)

Hi you all, before opening ports check if they are the right ports. You risk a lot if you listen to everyone and you do whatever. 2k is just a small tip, see you later.

For remote office, they were advised to open port 3389. It is the only and唯一 necessary port. No other port was suggested.

Hello, I have a PC on Ethernet at 192.168.0.x and I forwarded port 3389 in TCP to it (on 192.168.x). On my other computer, I go to Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop, I enter the IP address which is 82.241.117.xxx and then
    BOUM
    it says:
the client could not connect to the remote computer
    remote connections may be disabled....

Yet I tried disabling my antivirus and my XP firewall!
In any case, the port forwarding worked because when I try from the computer I want to control, it works fine

Thanks in advance and enjoy the end of holidays !!!!

It also needs to be opened on the firewall of the PC you want to control, but it might already be the case.

    Hello,

Too bad you only needed to install a remote access account and the rest was easy
