SMART TV connection issue

Good evening, I bought a 24 Oceanic Smart TV, and I can't connect it to an open Wi-Fi, knowing that it connects perfectly with secured Wi-Fi. The problem is that a web page should normally appear to enter my email and password, but it doesn't show up, and it says it's connected even though there's no internet.
Is there a solution?

Thank you.

    Hello,

An open wifi is a McDonald's or a supermarket, or a hotel...etc... 95% of the time, they don't allow TV streaming because it consumes too much bandwidth and they are responsible for certain videos.

And they have spotted your smart TV...

The wifi I'm talking about is Wifirst, which is the wifi of our university residence. Normally, it's stated on the website that it's possible to connect a Smart, that's why I'm asking :)

Yes, but I think it's the same problem... or else you have to pay... but I can't know what the network of this university campus contains... This question should be addressed to the IT administrator of the university campus or even the "network" administrator

I cannot answer regarding the posters of the campus.

    Hi,
    it's simple:
Either the smart TV has an internet browser in its apps, in which case you can log on to the public Wi-Fi, or it doesn't have one, and then it's impossible.

    and ... There you go!

Yes, she has a web browser, the problem is that when I connect to the Wi-Fi it says connected, but there is no internet, so I can't access the browser at that moment to log in.

This app is not a real browser :-(
A real browser can read web pages even when not connected to the internet if they are local or on a private server, like it is the case for the wifirst portal.
See if you can install a different browser than this crap on it.

Yes, you can very well be connected to the system... network, etc... but this connection is not necessarily carrying the WEB... however, your browser should still display a page; possibly with an error message... But it should be the homepage of the U campus asking for the login and password... or else, the server is not running...

Try if you have the same thing on your smartphone or on a PC..??

This is the homepage of Wifirst (the name of the wifi company) that should normally present itself so that I can enter my information; this is the case when I want to connect to the wifi from my smartphone or PC, the server works perfectly. But no page appears when I connect on the TV, that's the problem :/

The whole city must be in this case..?? Talk a bit with the neighbors to see if they have the same issue... Apparently, the welcome server is not working.. You should check this page on your smartphone.
