Good evening, I would like to watch a wmv file on my television but it does not accept it. It says "incompatible file".
What should I do?
Thank you for your help,
François.

Hello,
First, you need to know which video file types are compatible with the TV.
Then you can re-encode (convert) the WMV file to a format accepted by the TV...
That's the principle... -
I don't know what the compatible formats are, and I don't know how to re-encode a video.
Can you tell me more about it? -

I can't guess... it's you who has the TV and the manual... and I'm the one who should know..??
For the re-encoding, the internet is here

You also need to read the explanations. -
Hello,
Can you give the references of your television: brand and model?
How do you proceed to play your video on your TV?
The built-in media players in televisions are often able to read files in AVI and/or MP4 or even MKV?
To convert (re-encode) your file to WMV, you choose a free conversion software if possible like XMedia Recode or Format Factory for example.
To simplify, you choose the appropriate format (AVI, MP4, MKV or others) and leave the other settings at default. Then you start the transformation process by specifying the export path if necessary. There are many tutorials on the Internet to learn how to do this...
Then, you put your file on a USB stick, if that's how you do it, and try to play it on your TV.
Best regards

Thank you, a friend showed me how to do it with Format Factory.
