Hello,

If I may ask a question regarding Malwarebytes Guard Extension compared to Bitdefender Traffic Light, the former (MB) is often recommended and explained (for example by Malekal who guides us with his prudent advice): is it really better than Bitdefender’s free extension? I’ve searched in vain and can’t find any opinions on this. Thanks in advance for your éclaircissements.
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 81.0

    You're welcome

Ublock Origin + Malwarebytes Browser is very good

Noscript to block scripts on unknown sites but on each page it's up to you to choose whether to allow or not
We either like it or not but it's a security, especially on unknown sites

    Hi,

Malwarebytes Browser Guard is much more effective and recommended

Bitdefender Traffic Light isn't really useful and not great; it shows a green URL ON even though the site is blocked by most antivirus programs

      Hello Grandpa,
I have a question to get your opinion since you’re probably more sharp than I am in the field. If you had to choose between a free and lightweight antivirus ( Windows Defender ) + Malwarebytes Browser Guard + uBlock Origin; or a full antivirus suite, such as Bitdefender ( which includes a VPN but limited ); what would you pick? The issue with Windows Defender is the malware protection results (not good on AV-Comparatives but that’s without the Malwarebytes extension). And the second option is without a VPN but even buying NordVPN (which is not limited) is cheaper than a antivirus suite. Have a nice Sunday and thanks for your opinion. (PS: the purpose of the question I asked here on CCM is precisely my hesitation between Wdef + these extensions or a antivirus suite)

    Thank you Grandpa,

From my experience with the Bitdefender Anti-Tracker extension compared to Ublock Origin, the first BitDef笔 lets through a lot of ads while Ublock is flawless; am I correct then with Ublock Origin + Malwarebytes Browser Guard? And should I disable or remove the other BitDefender Anti-Tracker extension as well?

      Hello,
I’m coming back a bit to this post but with an even more general question. I have advised several friends to switch to Windows Defender, but it doesn’t have a web shield. Is there any free ones like MB Browser Guard or Bitdefender Traffic Light but also Norton Safe Web. Then who can we trust the most in terms of security and privacy ??? I haven’t found a serious comparison on this subject. Thanks for your feedback.
PS: I personally have Norton Safe Web on Edge and Firefox, but not available for Chrome, so I installed MB Browser Guard there, and no problems on either side.

Hello, I have already tested Defender several times, read many good things about it, but I’m still concerned, notably regarding the Web Shield that it doesn’t have, whereas I currently have Norton which includes Norton Safe Web and where I have checked the Banking Protection box. Norton mentions this in the description of its extension: "Norton Safe Web automatically detects when you are visiting a banking site, then launches the banking session in an isolated and protected mode." Are there any free extensions (combined or not) for Firefox, for example, that would provide the same level of protection? For instance, Netcraft + Malwarebytes Browser Guard + uBlock Origin? Is Norton Safe Web as good as Norton claims? (see this link: https://fr.norton.com/feature/safe-web). I won’t hide the fact that I’ve been trying to get this info for quite a while but without success. Thanks for any feedback and have a good afternoon everyone.
