Ignore files during transfer

Hello,
When I transfer my documents to a USB drive (for example), a window pops up informing me that X documents already exist with the same name and asks if I want to replace these files or ignore them.
I don't remember what it means to ignore the files.

Will the similar files already saved on the USB drive remain?

Thank you

P.S.: I couldn't find where to ask this question, the suggested list is too complicated for me!

    Hello,
ignored means that the transfer of documents to the USB key is canceled, the old files on the key remain!

      Thank you
      Do the old files remain?
On my USB drive, there are the documents from January

I want to transfer those from February so as not to lose the ones from January and complete them with the new February files.

Does ignoring allow me to not copy those that are already on the drive while copying those that are not yet there?

      Thanks again...

because the new files are named the same as the old ones, rename them, and they will copy onto the drive!
