Hello everyone,
I accidentally formatted the /D drive of my computer, the formatting took only a few seconds.
I thought it would be possible to recover the data, so I used the EaseUS Data Recovery software, and to my surprise, it found the names, dates, and sizes of my files, in addition to providing a correct preview of images, for example.
However, once the recovery was finished, I couldn't open any files correctly; for images, it says "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this image, the file format isn't supported, or the viewer isn't up to date". The Word files open but contain only unreadable strings of symbols, and the PDFs show "failed to load PDF document", etc. Yet the files are correctly recognized in the recovery folder as PDFs, Word documents, JPEGs, etc., their sizes are consistent, and the creation dates are too...
Do you have a solution to suggest? I have lost 800 GB of data, and my external backup drive is also corrupted due to a nasty fall.
Thanks in advance!!

Hello,
Try to recover your data with "test disk":
