Required to discharge capacitors to start the PC

Hello,

I reinstalled Windows 10 on a friend's PC. Everything went smoothly and here I am with a nice clean OS.
After several "normal" startups, the PC suddenly refused to boot and every time it starts up, it shuts down after about 10 seconds.
I looked online for a solution to get the PC to boot and I found a trick.
Before each startup, I have to unplug the power cable, press the "Power" button to discharge the capacitors, plug the cable back in, and restart.
Then the PC starts and works normally.
Note that the battery is dead "0%", it is internal, and I need to open the laptop to test if that’s what's causing the issue...

Do you have any ideas (manipulation, settings, or otherwise) to fix this problem?

Thank you in advance

Michel

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 80.0

Good evening,
The PC being connected to the power supply, there’s no reason for it not to start normally.
Now, with the battery at 0%, if it doesn’t charge, we should probably consider replacing it. It’s not certain that there is a connection between the encountered problem and a faulty battery, but why not ultimately!
Best regards

To handle the battery (remove or disconnect) you need to open the laptop.
I will order a new one before opening it.

If I were in your place, to make sure you order the right battery, I would remove the bottom cover of the laptop to check its specifications; it will take about 15 minutes and you'll be starting off on the right foot.
But everyone does what they want!
See you!

Good evening,
What happens when you unclip the battery?

I am getting back to you to give you some news.

After changing the battery, no more issues.
As glg29 said, I don't really see the connection between the problem encountered and the dead battery, but apparently...

Thank you all for your responses and your help.
