Contour vectorization HELP

Hello everyone,

I want to vectorize the outline of a drawing I made but I can't dissociate it once the "trace outline" operation is applied.
I tried with a new simple file (circle with an outline) and even then it doesn't work

I'm on Illustrator 2019

I don't have the 2019 version, but I suppose it should be the same..

After vectorizing your image, keep it selected and from the "Object" menu -> "Expand"...

Ah great, it's working. Indeed, I deselected and then tried to unlink.
