Hello,
My Asus Fx 503V laptop, just out of warranty, won't turn on at all; all the indicator lights remain off.
I checked the charger: +19V OK
I tried pressing the power button hard for 30 seconds with the power unplugged, then plugged in, but nothing happens.
I disassembled it (see the 2 photos)
- checked the 2032 3V battery: OK
- removed the battery and powered by the charger: nothing happens
- I checked the voltage:
--- charger unplugged, battery connected: 0V at the battery terminals
--- on the connector of the power input, charger plugged in: 19V
--- at the battery terminals connected and charger plugged in: 0V or close
- visually, there are no abnormal traces on the surface of the motherboard.
Are there any other simple tests I can do before I throw it away?
What do you think?
Thank you in advance for your advice
Configuration: Windows 10 / Firefox 79.0

Hello,
It seems that the charger is no longer doing its job and maybe the battery too!
What is the purchase date of your PC?

The on/off button is not the issue, I tested it and it's working.
The problem must be with the battery that is not charging while the motherboard is properly powered... so there's an issue with the motherboard... too complicated to fix for me... it's going to the dump... I'm only keeping the 8GB of RAM and the HDD... and I'll avoid Asus laptops in the future...
Thank you for your advice... -
