Adobe Illustrator CC has quit unexpectedly.

Hello,

I couldn't find the solution to my problem either on this site or anywhere else on the web. I hope you can help me ...

I have 2 accounts on my MacBook Pro. Adobe Illustrator doesn't open in one of them while it works in the other account. All other software on my computer (including Photoshop) works in both accounts.
Here’s the issue: when I click on the "Ai" icon, it initializes but the software doesn’t open. A window appears saying "Adobe Illustrator CC has quit unexpectedly." If I click on relaunch, the same error message comes back.

This is Illustrator CC and I have a license.

Thank you very much

Anne

Hello,

In this kind of situation, most often, it is the preferences file related to the application that is corrupted. Then, you simply need to delete it before launching the application again.

So, from the Finder, go to the Go menu / Go to Folder...

In the input area that appears, paste this path:

~/Library/Preferences

and confirm

the ~ sign indicates that this is your directory, and you will then find yourself in your preferences folder...

Then locate the preferences files related to Adobe Illustrator; these files should have names that start with com.adobe.... and end with .plist; put the files clearly related to Illustrator in the trash and empty the trash.

Then try to relaunch Illustrator...

Best regards.

Good evening Francis,

Deleting the com.adobe files wasn't enough... but it gave me the idea to copy all the files associated with Illustrator from ~/Library/Preferences on the working session and replace them in the other session.
Now it works! Illustrator opens!!!
Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards

Anne
