Is it possible to print in draft mode with Word?

Hello,

I recently bought an HP printer that is quite advanced, but it lacks the "draft print" function. There is a "draft copy" function, but that's the only one. With my previous, more basic printer, I could copy/print in draft mode from the computer.

I discovered that you can use Word, which has a draft option.

My question: how do you use Word when you want to print in draft mode? I don't understand.

Thank you

Best regards

    Hi,

In my opinion, the easiest way would be to add a new printer from the control panel, giving it an explicit name (Draft for example), and configure it with all the minimum settings, so with low quality and only in black print.

That way, when you want to print in "draft" quality, you can select this printer to print, from any software.

    Hello,

You can indeed choose to print in draft quality. This specifically means that images and all graphic objects will not be printed. They will be replaced with white squares.

If that's what you want: File tab, Options, Advanced Options, Printing section.

    Hello,

Thank you for the response. I followed the procedure, but the page came out blank.

I noticed that in the "Print" section, under different headings, there were multiple checkboxes, some of which were already checked.

What should I do at this stage?

    Thank you.

If your sheet is completely blank, it means you only have graphic objects (including text boxes) in your document.

I actually don't know what you're expecting with a draft print.

By printing in draft mode, I use much less ink.

That's the observation I made with my previous HP printer.

The rough print of Word is therefore not for you. I see only one solution: a printer.
