Are there multiple accounts on the tablet? Indeed, an app can be installed from one account but not visible with other accounts.

as Bruno CS puts it so well, the button with 6 dots or lines depending on the model is the settings, the app drawer is a screen with your apps on my phone in the general settings (gear icon) in the home screen line I have app drawer, logically when I install an app it automatically puts itself on one of my screens if there is space otherwise it opens a new screen you have to swipe through the screens to find it!
