Uninstall and reinstall Messenger

Hello,

My Messenger keeps crashing and won't open anymore. If I uninstall and reinstall Messenger, will I be able to recover my old conversations?
There are photos and messages that I really don't want to lose.

    Hi,

    the conversations are not affected by the uninstallation of the app, they remain available on your Facebook account and upon reinstalling the Messenger app, the conversations should be automatically retrieved.
