Uninstall Messenger from Facebook

Hello,
Mysteriously, Messenger has installed itself on my Facebook and I would like to uninstall it from my laptop and on my tablet with Android. I didn't even know I had a Messenger account!
I tried to go to the programs on my phone to uninstall it, but the app doesn't even show up there. The same goes for the application manager on my tablet. So how can I make my messages on Facebook return to how they were before?

You can't. Since the last update, Messages has become "Messenger"... but in reality, it doesn't change anything at all... You still use it as Facebook's messaging box through the site (from a PC)... Just like before.
