Old CD with stuck foam

Hello,

I have a problem with my old classical music CDs. The fine foam that was supposed to protect them has decomposed and is sticking to the CDs: do you have a solution to clean this? It's not affecting playback, it's on the top. There are pieces of foam stuck on them.
Thank you.

    Hello
I recommend using a gentle solvent
such as isopropyl alcohol (apply, let it act, and clean)
do not use acetone as it is too aggressive.
if the alcohol is 90% dilute it in water 70% water 30% alcohol

    Hi,

    Maybe with white vinegar?

Hello and thank you for your suggestion: I tried it, and indeed it’s abrasive, but it also removes the glossy layer. Well, if I don’t have any other solution, I’ll stick with this suggestion! Thanks again.

      First, I suggested soft stuff.

Then, moving up in range, you have cleaning alcohol and finally acetone ;)
