Hello,
I want to migrate an existing site created with Cargo, which is a CMS, to WordPress while keeping the content and the graphic charter. Should I change the hosting provider? The domain name?
Thank you for your help
Configuration: Macintosh / Chrome 81.0.4044.122

Hello
Just because it’s also a CMS doesn’t mean your site can always be migrated to WordPress. Unfortunately for you, these two are not compatible and you’ll have to redo your entire site and obviously use another hosting provider. For the domain, that depends on whether you bought it from a registrar (company that sells domains) or if it’s provided by Cargo

Hello
Thank you for your response. The domain name was created with OVH, but the site is hosted with Cargo. I will therefore move my hosting to OVH, but how do I do it?
Indeed, we will have to rebuild the site on WordPress from A to Z directly.
Thank you -
If your current site receives visitors, you simply need to go to OVH and choose one of the "Individual hosting" offers, then install WordPress there (manually or via the auto-installer), recreate your site, and finally point your domain to the new hosting so your visitors can continue to view your current site while you switch to the new one.
If your site receives no visitors, you can, after registering with OVH, point your domain to your new hosting, wait 48 hours, then install WordPress and recreate your site there.
