Hello,
I am an amateur photographer.
And I have a technical question in computing to ask you.
I want to change my computer to exclusively do advanced photo editing on Photoshop and Lightroom; and not any video.
I have chosen to buy a laptop (as it is more suited to my needs).
In my configuration, I already have:
An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1600 graphics card with 4 GB.
16 GB (2x8) DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz.
An SSD M.2 NVMe hard drive (for faster startup).
A 17" IPS, Full HD, matte, anti-glare screen (to avoid contrast and color variations depending on the screen's angle). The screen will also be calibrated with a probe.
This seems sufficient for my practice and my rather tight budget... However, I have a doubt about the processor. I am torn between an Intel i5, 4 cores at 2.4 GHz and an Intel i7, 6 cores at 2.6 GHz. Clearly, the i7 is more powerful. But is it really necessary for doing only photo editing? ????
Thank you for your responses ????

Hello,
you must not have searched for long:

So an i5 might be sufficient, it will depend on what you are going to do, but memory is more important than the processor.
However, good initiative for the IPS screen. Don't forget to calibrate it.
