How to easily offset layers/compositions in case of omission?

Hello,
There’s a problem for which I can’t seem to find a simple solution.
I make explanatory videos. I explain scientific concepts and add some animation to what I say. But sometimes, I forget to mention something.
As a result, I have to shift every object in order to insert what I forgot. I lose quite a bit of time fixing these unintended little shifts.
For now, I select all the layers that come after and shift them by X seconds, but regarding those that occur at the time of the insertion, I have to manually adjust the keyframes, readjust them... Is there a simple method?
I also thought about selecting these layers that are involved at the time of the insertion and splitting them all, then just shifting these second parts that were created, but I'm afraid that will weigh the project down since I’ll be increasing the number of objects and compositions (my computer struggles to keep up at times...). And it’s already hard enough to keep track of everything sometimes, so yeah :-P
Do you know a simple and “optimized” way to shift multiple layers and keyframes in order to insert a forgotten element at a specific spot?

Hello,
Normally, you select the layers to move and press ALT+SHIFT+right arrow as many times as you want.
Otherwise, if it’s a hassle, you can render this video. Then, create the missing scene in a new AE project. After that, work in Premiere Pro (or another editing software) to insert the missing sequence.

However, it doesn't quite solve my problem... For instance, if I needed to add a sentence and I insert it in the desired location, I have to delay the disappearance of the layers that occur at the time of insertion by a few seconds. It’s mainly them that are the issue, the layers that activate at that moment...
Does splitting several layers and compositions weigh down the project? Or does After Effects understand that there aren't really 2x more objects, that it's the same amount, just located on a different line?
