Hello,
I just bought a Mac adapter to connect my Ethernet cable. When I connect the cable, in my settings > network, the Ethernet cable shows up but in orange and indicates: "Ethernet has an auto-assigned IP address and will not be able to access the Internet."
I followed the steps indicated on this forum page ( https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-35302218-adresse-ip-auto-assignee ) but I don't see anything in router once I've reconnected my cable... (When my cable with the adapter is connected to the box everything works perfectly...)
Can you help me?
Thank you! And happy lockdown.
Pauline

Good evening,
Unplug your box, and plug it back in to reset it.
On the Mac, connect directly via Ethernet cable to the box,
Then, set up a brand new network configuration. See this message:

Best regards.
