Citra emulator issue with Animal Crossing New Leaf

Hello,
I'm currently playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the Citra emulator on PC. The problem is that I simply can't catch fish (sharks for example) that require a quicker reaction than during "normal" fishing. I know the issue isn't with me since I can do it without any problems on the 3DS.
The speed limit percentage is correctly set to 100% (I initially thought the problem was from here).

If anyone could shed some light on the source of the problem, I would be very grateful! Thank you in advance.

I have a very simple tactic to counter the latency issue: you need to reduce the emulation speed to 50% (that's at 50% that I managed to catch my first shark) and try to fish for the shark normally. This way, latency won’t be a problem and you’ll be able to catch sharks.

Okay, so I just saw that you need to try to anticipate, basically press before it bites, because it's the emulator that has a latency issue from what I understood, so good luck ;)
Personally, I just caught 2 tricky fish to get
you have to think that it adds some challenge
