Can a Wi-Fi controller force a PC to connect to another access point?

Hello,
I have a problem in a large facility where users are constantly moving around with a laptop on a cart. The computer often stays connected to a distant access point, resulting in poor performance in their software. Is there a way to force the computer to switch access points without touching the configuration of the laptop's Wi-Fi card?
Could a Wi-Fi controller be a solution?
Thank you.

Hello,
no, not at all.
A Wi-Fi controller only manages the access points, not the clients.
Then, if all the access points have the same SSID, there is no reason for clients not to switch between access points unless the BSSID is hard-coded in their connection.
I've never tried, and I don't have the means to do so, but I think a RADIUS that authenticates the clients of access points in a business has the ability to force them onto a BSSID or not.

However, I wonder how the rooms are managed, for example, where we will have many visitors. If we let the devices choose their PA, we risk having too many people on the same PA, right? The controller should be able to drop the connection and "ban" it on one PA to force the connection to another, shouldn't it?
