Voice chat issue Fortnite PC

Question

Hello,

I need help regarding a voice chat issue in Fortnite. I can't hear my friends, and they can't hear me. I can see their microphones moving as if they're talking, but I can't hear them. This bug only affects Fortnite; there are no problems with Discord.

First, check in the Fortnite settings if you have the correct voice chat outputs. If it doesn’t work, click on the sound icon at the bottom left of your screen (outside of Fortnite) and select the audio output you want.
As a last resort, you can go into the Windows settings, then to "sound", and then to the sound control panel.
Then choose your preferred audio output, right-click and "set as default device".
You can then go back to the game and set the voice chat output (and input) to default.

I have the same problem for 2 days, I don't understand, I am with other players but I can't hear anyone and no one can hear me. Even the chat icon at the bottom left doesn't appear, I have tried everything in the chat settings but nothing. If you have a solution, I would be interested

I have also had this problem for the past 3 or 4 days... I have tried all possible manipulations in Fortnite and outside of Fortnite, and I have come to the following conclusion: Fortnite does not want to use my output device (which works everywhere else) for voice chat. Indeed, if I disable it or if I use an external speaker (Bluetooth), I can hear people through that speaker and they can hear me through my headset's mic.
Therefore, I contacted Epic support explaining all of this and I am still waiting for a response.
I’ll keep you updated if I find a solution, but I think a good game update could save us!
