Unlocking the HDMI port on Samsung TV

Hello,
I retrieved a Samsung TV (I don't have the remote), and I connected my daughter's Wii U to the HDMI port, but in the source menu the HDMI function is grayed out and I can't select it; only TV, Ext 1, and Ext 2 are accessible. Does anyone know how to unlock the HDMI function???
Thanks in advance for your responses, my daughter would be very happy to be able to use her console comfortably in the guest room! :-)

    Hello,
    Was the console on before plugging it in?
    Have you tried another HDMI cable?

      Hello, I tried with the console turned off, on, nothing works, HDMI mode is still grayed out. The same when using a new HDMI cable...
