Hello,
I'm unable to insert a new font in Preview on Mac.
The fonts used by Preview are in "French" in "Smart Collection" and you can't drag and drop a font there, whereas you can in other collections. Ugh.
Thank you in advance
Jean

Hello,
It makes sense that we cannot add fonts to the smart collection "Français", since it is a request grouping all the fonts usable in the French language.
However, for Preview, indeed the thing is strange. I did several tests, and with the current state of my system (High Sierra), I am encountering limitations in the use of "exotic" fonts that I wasn't aware of before. I was able to place texts in Preview in Arabic and Chinese characters by using a trick that consists of writing these texts first in the Pages application, then copying and pasting them into Preview.
But this requires more constraints than I had previously known; that is to say, first, you need to enable the desired languages in the system preferences under Language and Region, and also enable the corresponding keyboards in Input Method, then from the menu bar, choose the appropriate keyboard...
It's not simple, but I was able to place these examples in Preview:
That said, I am surprised by these difficulties, as in the past I could much more easily use particular fonts in any application... maybe my installation is not optimal..?
Best regards.

My computer is quite old. I'm running on El Capitan. I can't install Pages.
I'll try going through System Preferences as you suggested.
Thank you very much.
