How to configure video outputs on your PC using the graphics card?

Hello,
I am facing the following issue:
My motherboard has an HDMI output but no VGA output, and I want to set up a dual monitor (which only has an HDMI or VGA input). My graphics card has an HDMI output and a VGA output, but when I connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the graphics card instead of that on the motherboard, it doesn't work.
I wanted to know if it is possible to ensure that the video outputs are managed by the graphics card and not by my motherboard?

    That's not normal. It should be the opposite. When you install a dedicated GPU, the IGP is disabled by the BIOS to save resources. The video outputs on the motherboard, not being connected to a graphics processor, should not work. In your case, since they do work, there is an issue with your GPU. Check that your GPU is securely seated in the PCI-Express 16X slot and that the power cable is properly connected to the GPU if it needs to be powered by the main power supply.

    PS: give us some information about your PC: at least the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and power supply.
