Red pixel problem

Hello everyone,
I'm not very knowledgeable about computers, so I'm relying on you.
I have an HP laptop and for about two weeks, red pixels have appeared on my screen. They only show up when the content is black or in dark colors. My laptop hasn't taken any hits; could it be a super-powerful virus?
I forgot to mention, but I've had my laptop for about three and a half years. Is it dead?
I've tried a lot of things that didn't work, like completely cleaning it to see if it was a virus. I also took a screenshot of the screen with the red pixels and sent it to my phone. On my phone, the screen looked normal without the pixels. So I concluded it wasn't the graphics card. Do you have any ideas or advice?

Turn off the PC.
Unplug the power cable from the PC and the battery (if it's a laptop).
Press and hold the power button on the PC for 40 seconds.
Then release the power button.
Reconnect the power cable and/or replace the battery of the PC.
Turn on the PC.
