Hello,
I am reaching out to you.
I have an old HP-110-215eF central unit with a VGA connection. The old monitor works fine with the central unit.
I have a new Samsung 32’’ monitor with an HDMI output. I have connected an HDMI cable, HDMI/VGA adapter, and VGA extension (the male connector is not 100% stable: I can’t screw the two small bolts properly even though there is still a connection.) to the central unit.
The screen stays black on startup and shows "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE."
What would you advise me to do?
Is it a connectivity issue?
Is the monitor not compatible with the too old central unit?
Thank you for everything.
Vincent.

Good evening,
I think that the incomplete tightening of the VGA connection could be the cause; let's test the new screen on another CPU.

Thank you for your help.
Problem solved. It was definitely a connectivity issue (... perhaps due to compatibility between the different VGA connections…??? We should get the opinion of specialists.)
In the end, there was a DVI input on the central unit. I chose to use an HDMI/DVI adapter. It's working now.
Thank you for everything.
Happy New Year,
Vincent.
