Since there is no description of the problem, here are the basic rules for universal remote controls. (which are not as universal as they claim).
BEFORE purchasing, make sure that the remote is compatible with your television model and brand. Either check the documentation, contact the seller, or verify that there is a manufacturer's website that will provide the code for your specific TV model.
After the purchase, it is too late and all these low-cost Chinese remotes are very far from being compatible with all models of all brands. Even those from more well-known brands don’t do so.
The only current way to guarantee that a remote will be compatible is to have a model that can "learn," and for that, you will need the original remote anyway. At least for a good half hour, to do this "learning". This process allows you to "program" anything onto any button.
For example, with Logitech or other brands, but it is much more expensive.
