Resetting Epson Stylus PHOTO RX640 Counters

Hello,
Unable to reset the counter of the RX640 PHOTO with the SSC Service Utility software,
when I click on Reset protection counter, I get the message Error, Printer off, or some other problem: I tried as advised on a blog to turn off the printer, wait 1 minute, and turn it back on, but the printer is still stuck; I couldn’t find a method using simultaneous presses on multiple buttons on the printer, the ones mentioned concern the Stylus RX640, but not the PHOTO version, which does not have the same buttons. A message on WIC strongly discourages usage as even after entering the paid key, resetting fails....
What to do, doctor ??

      Indeed, I managed to revive the beast with a free key, at 90% of the meters.
      I understand what the person who said it was a scam was saying, but I think they hadn't read the text completely, which clearly stated that the free "TRIAL" key set the meters to 90%.

        Some people sometimes judge without trying or simply don't know how to use WIC and as a result, it's a scam for them...
        For your information, the key is worth less than 10€
        I consider the issue resolved

      Thank you thank you thank you, for 6 months I've been trying to restart my printer without success. Thanks to you, it won't go to the dump, it's great and the solution is so simple. I'm thrilled!!!!
      Install Wic reset utility, enter the key "tria"l, turn off the printer, restart it and it's back on, awesome!

      My Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD printer
      is working again.

      However, I used the first free unlock code for an X
      and when the printer breaks down again like mine, ink pad etc...
      I will buy the new unlock key

    2. Change the PC date to 01/23/2007
    3. Run the program in XP SP3 compatibility mode (it won't work)
    4. Delete the contents of the folder C:\Adjustment Program
    5. Delete the contents of the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/EPSON/PTSG (For me, there was nothing)
    6. Run the attached program again in XP SP3 compatibility mode
    7. Choose Particular Adjustment Mode
    8. Choose Waste ink pad counter
    9. Click on Initialization.
    10. When prompted by the program, turn off and then turn on the printer.

    It's a bit convoluted as a procedure, but it worked for me.
