Hello,
It is actually the sponge that absorbs the ink used during the cleaning of the print heads.
I don't know if there is software to unlock the printer and bypass this warning. If you manage to unlock the printer, it will only be a short-term workaround.
The solution involves replacing the sponge or purchasing another printer if the operation is too costly.
I can assure you that an overflowing absorber sponge is particularly messy and can cause damage.
I perfectly understand that disposing of a printer due to a saturated sponge is an unacceptable waste. Manufacturers leave us hardly any choice ...-
Thank you very much for your kind response - I understand the need to replace the saturated ink pads, especially since my machine is over 3 years old and is heavily used in photo mode - I saw online the possibility of having the pads cleaned at an Epson specialized center - but I think it will be faster and safer to change printers, even if I have to lose unused Epson cartridges (good but very expensive)

Hello again, some news following our message exchange:
I just tried the reset key (costing €7 - offered on the site (***@***) to reset the copy counter to 0 - and my printer restarted! - I know it's in survival mode due to saturated ink pads, but it's worth mentioning anyway - I hope to have time to use the new cartridges I have left
Maybe an experience that might interest other users facing similar issues?
