Hello,
Here is my problem: when I try to open a Word document, the following messages appear:
Word found unreadable content in "Histoire du droit des obligations.docx". Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If the source of this document is trustworthy, click Yes.
When I click yes, the following message appears:
Word encountered an error while opening the file.
Try to:
(Histoire du droit des obligations.docx)
Is it possible to recover the contents of the folder?
Is it the folder on the USB stick that has a problem or the entire Word application?
How can I prevent this from happening again?
Why is this message appearing? (Where does this unreadable content come from?)
Thank you to the brave person who manages to solve my various problems/questions.
Have a good evening.

Try to:
- Check the file/drive permissions.
- Ensure that memory and disk space are sufficient.
- Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.

Hello,
Your file is corrupted.
And since you mentioned the USB stick, we can fear the worst. A file is rarely recovered from a USB stick that has been improperly removed.
How to prevent this from happening again:
Use a USB stick ONLY for making backups, for taking a document with you, for example. And properly eject the USB stick from the drive.
Only save your files on your hard drive or an external hard drive, or in the Cloud, never on a USB.
For important documents, always make backups on another medium.
Enable Windows automatic backup.
Have you tried what was suggested in the message? That is, "Open the file with the Text Recovery Converter." ?

If you don't provide your version, we can't guess it... -
Thank you very much for your very detailed response! I will now avoid the USB key.
As for the text recovery tool, I don't understand how to do it...-
If you want to give me your document, I can take a look, but I can't promise anything.
You can put it here:

and provide the link. -
