Defective PC purchased from Leclerc. What warranty?

Hello, I bought a laptop at Leclerc on June 26.

Used for 3 days, it seemed defective. Sent to customer service who wanted to do a factory reset. They called me this morning and said that indeed there is a problem.

They said they would send it to Acer and that they would repair it and send it back to me. But I bought a new laptop, I don’t want a laptop that’s been tampered with.

I requested a refund or for them to give me a new laptop. And that generally in the warranty I have 15 days to request an exchange or refund.

He told me that laptops are different because once activated, they cannot be resold.

But in that case, if Acer repairs it and it is reset, they could very well put it back on sale, right?

Does anyone know about this, please? I don’t want a tampered laptop, I paid for a new one.

    Hi,

the 15-day withdrawal period applies to online purchases; purchases in stores do not have this guarantee and it's at the seller's discretion. As for the activation issue mentioned by the seller, that's nonsense; while they may not be able to resell a second-hand PC, they could easily sort it out with Acer to exchange it for a new one... (it is possible that you could get a new one from Acer if the problem is not repairable)

Well, the only solution is to go to the store and raise a fuss; it might work, but concretely, they are not obligated to refund you or exchange it, just to provide after-sales service during the warranty period.

So it means that if they want, they deliberately put a computer that doesn't work for sale, sell it at the new price, and hope that the buyer won't do anything. And in the worst-case scenario, the buyer will go to customer service, but all they will be entitled to is the repair of the computer in question, and so for the purchase of a new PC, they will ultimately end up with a "refurbished" PC?

Well, I'm saying this, but it's the same pattern as in my case, except that they may not have done it on purpose, but that wouldn't change anything.

Unfortunately, faulty machines upon purchase do happen, especially with Acer, that’s bad luck.

Now they are obligated to repair the machine you just bought or replace it with a new one if it’s non-repairable; in both cases, Leclerc is just an intermediary, it’s Acer that handles that.
