Hello,
I have an "old" JVC hi-fi system (from the 80s) that works very well and has good sound. A CD player is connected to it.
My problem is that I would like to listen to playlists compiled on a USB flash drive. I can only find independent mini systems with speakers.
I would like to be able to add/connect a USB playback module (3.5mm jack).
Can you help me? Where can I find this type of equipment? With what cable?
Thank you in advance for your response.

hi
don't you have an old TNT decoder in your attic?
even if it's outdated... it's not for watching TV
it will make a very good USB reading module...cheap!!!!
it just needs a USB reading port and an audio RCA or SCART output

Hello, it all depends on the available inputs on your device. If you have an AUX input, you can probably connect a Bluetooth module to pair any smartphone or PC that has Bluetooth.

First of all, thank you for your quick response. For your information, my system (separated components from the 1980s) does not have Bluetooth functionality. I know, it's an antique but so great!!! Never had a breakdown and it sounds amazing!
Yes, indeed, I have AUX inputs available. A CD player (without a USB port) is also connected to my tuner.
Ideally, upon reflection, it would have been great to have a component like a CD player with USB that could replace my current player, which doesn't have a USB port. Impossible to find that.
Why do you ask? Because I wouldn't want to be obliged to use multiple devices to listen to my compilations: the PC (laptop in this case, and maybe absent when the time comes) or the phone (I'm not very skilled with that).
Only solution => Connect a CD player with USB to the system via RCA cables or simply "if that's possible" connect a USB player to the CD player with maybe an adapter if such a thing exists.
How and with what type of device?
Thank you in advance for the answers. -

Hi fmq !!!! Thanks for your reply. Not a bad idea !!!!
And with a DVD player with USB, could it work? By connecting it to the AUX???
I just saw one at Boulanger for €34
What do you think ????
If it worked, that would be GREAT.

Well, it should work... in theory!!!!
But
according to the official Lg documentation
If you are using a USB extension cable, a USB hub, a multi-USB reader, or an external hard drive, the USB device may not be recognized.
Some USB devices may not work with this device
Others have already encountered problems

The model is quite old too
But the idea is good
Choose another reader, a little less cheap

It's really nice of you to have done the research. I wouldn't have been able to do it.
The link to the article is quite clear and I think I'm going to lean towards a better quality device.
Indeed, as my grandmother used to say: we aren't rich enough to afford poor quality....
That's probably why my hi-fi system is 36 years old and still works.
You're absolutely right about the player; you need a solid device!!!!
Too much saving kills the economy, right?
Thanks again for all the information you gave me
Accept my best thoughts.

Why do you say that: too generous? This is a support forum, right?
I don't see what could be criticized about fmq's helpfulness in a field where he probably knows more than others..... He simply provided me with information that I considered useful and welcome.
Forgive me for saying this, but I feel your comment is biased. Perhaps you could be more explicit?
You are surprising...... but I imagine you must know that.
