VLC, add an audio track

Solved

Hello, I currently have a series in duplicate, the original version and the dubbed version.
Knowing that VLC can switch from one audio track to another, I would like to embed the audio track of the dubbed version directly into the videos of the original version (I know how to extract the audio from a video) so that when playing said videos with VLC, I can choose to switch from the original version to the dubbed version and vice versa.
So, how can I add an audio track to a video file in such a way that the two tracks are not played at the same time?

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 67.0

Hello,

With VLC: Media --> Open multiple files --> Check More options and play in sync.
Under Additional media, you select your second audio stream.
Under File selection, you add your video file.
Finally, click play and you should be able to watch your video choosing either of the audio streams.
The procedure is described here: https://lightmv.com/fr/ajouter-audio-sur-video.html

But more simply, you should use MKVToolnix to add your second audio stream to your video. You would then have an MKV file with 2 audio tracks.

Best regards

Hello Emi0559,

To my knowledge, VLC does not allow you to record video with 2 audio tracks.
If you want to add a second audio track to a video, you need to do it differently. The easiest way is to create a file in MKV using MKVToolnix. The interface of this application makes it easy to add an audio track to a video.
Otherwise, it depends on the type of file you have. Previously, for AVI files, the software VirtualDubMOD allowed you to create BivX (AVI video file with 2 audio tracks), for MP4, I think XMedia Recode or HandBrake. Multi-track editing software (free or not) can also do it. There must be others, but this type of software requires re-encoding the video.
But I must admit that this is an operation I haven't done in a long time... so my advice is only theoretical ;)
