Good evening, I'm creating this forum because I need help with my Discord. I've been using Discord for a short time, so I'm struggling to find my way around all the functions and I need assistance. A moderator from a group sent me a message saying "mute yourself" and I couldn't find what that meant. I know how to mute others, but not myself... I've searched the internet and asked him, but got no response. So how do you mute yourself? And what is it for?

    Hi,

"Mute" means to turn off your microphone, maybe we can hear you breathing or something...
You have an icon to mute it at the bottom left:

You can also lower the sensitivity (on the bar, you can see if it activates when you breathe, for example)

Otherwise, you can enable "push-to-talk," which means assigning a key to activate your microphone (instead of it being automatic)

    Hope this helps :)
