Hello, I have a problem that is bothering me a lot. I've always used the "Incredimail" messaging system, and some time ago a technician from Bouygues (my provider) sent me an email that didn't arrive. He told me to check my "junk" folder, but there isn't one in this messaging system. He then advised me to go to the Bouygues messaging system, and when I accessed my client account, I discovered (I’ve been with them since 1999) over 8000 junk emails, some of which are not junk at all. I never thought I had a Bouygues account. What I don't understand is why the address is exactly the same, so emails arrive sometimes on one side and sometimes on the other. I called them to request a temporary blocking of this inbox, but they said it's impossible... I'm going crazy with these emails arriving everywhere. How can I keep only "Incredimail" for now while I sort through things???
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

    Good evening,

If I understood correctly, you have an email address with Bouygues, likely in the format xxxxxx@bbox.fr.
And you have an email client, which is Incredimail.
Normally, this email client should allow you to see the spam filtered by Bouygues (which contains errors), but it does not. There is likely a configuration issue.

    You have three solutions:

    - In the immediate term, you can use Bouygues' webmail to view all your messages (including spam).

    - You can try modifying the Incredimail configuration to view all folders.

    - You can switch to a different email client: use Thunderbird.
The issue is that if you have configured Incredimail using POP, there are messages in the Incoming Mail directory; and they are no longer visible in Bouygues' webmail. So do not delete Incredimail from your computer. Just disable the reception of messages.
I recommend using the IMAP protocol. Messages remain on the host server. You are protected from this kind of problem, and messages can be accessed from multiple devices.
(Some people disagree for security reasons: there are actually no proven risks. I have been using this protocol for years without any issues, like millions of other people).

    Sincerely

Good evening Pierr, thank you for this quick response. In fact, my email has been "incredimail" since the beginning, but it has exactly the same address as the Bouygues email; I have never seen it. I would prefer to stop the Bouygues inbox that I have never used and which only has spam, nothing in the inbox, no contacts at least until I can figure things out because it’s annoying to receive emails from both sides...
      Thank you again. Best regards.

Can you confirm that this is indeed a Bouygues email account with an address of the type: xxxxx@bbox.fr?

Everything seems unclear to me. Either I didn't understand anything or you are making a big confusion between the email box and the tools that allow access to it.

Hello, I do have an account with Bouygues (my operator since 1999) and I therefore have an @bbox.fr address. Since I got a PC, I installed "Incredimail" with the @bbox.fr address... I didn’t have any problems until now and I still use Incredimail with the @bbox.fr address because I was not aware of the Bouygues inbox. My issue is that emails sometimes arrive on one side, sometimes on the other. Not having been accustomed to checking the Bouygues messaging, I easily forget it. I would like the emails to continue arriving only in Incredimail, especially since the Bouygues inbox only has spam and nothing else. It’s annoying to receive emails on both sides, and I wonder how it’s possible to have two inboxes with a single "@bbox.fr" address. As for the tools, I never go there... big mystery.
      Thanks again. Best regards.

      I summarize the situation:
You have an email account with Bouygues with an address @bbox.fr.
You have 2 ways to access it (what I called the tools):

      1) Go directly to the Bouygues website with this address: https://www.mon-compte.bouyguestelecom.fr/cas/login?service=https://oauth2.bouyguestelecom.fr/authorizecallback?id=ar-2d78232c-4870-4c25-818f-339f0e402192%26client_id=webmail.bouyguestelecom.fr
This is probably the one you use.

      2) Alternatively, use Incredimail

From what I understand, Incredimail likely uses the POP3 protocol: which means that the messages you have read are downloaded onto your computer and are no longer visible on the Bouygues email website. This is what gives you the impression that the messages are in one place or another.

What seems abnormal to me is that the messages that Bouygues considers as spam should be visible on Incredimail.
Go to the Bouygues website and note the name of the folder where the spam is located: it can be "Indésirables," "Junk," or "Trash" (those are the most likely names). Then check in Incredimail if there is a folder with the same name.

Here I am again... at Bouygues the file is "spam messages" and I haven't seen anything in Incredimail...
