Hello
No matter what settings I make in the properties of Opera, the history is deleted. Among the options provided, there is no "never." And whether the "delete history" box is checked or not, the deletion happens every time I close the session. I find this very annoying, and it didn't happen in the previous version! Sometimes I need my history to find certain addresses! How can I change this? Thank you for your help.

Hello,
If you use cleaning software like CCleaner, the history is deleted.
You can manage your privacy and security settings in the Opera options.
- Go to the Menu located at the top left, then click on Settings.
- Go to Advanced, then → Privacy & Security
In the Privacy and security section (right window):
- Go to → Content settings
- Go to → Cookies
Check or highlight the following:
- Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)
- Keep local data only until I quit my browsing session
Uncheck:
- Block third-party cookies
Give it a try:
Log in to your favorite sites.
Close the tabs.
Close Opera.
Restart Opera.
Go to the Menu, then → History.
Make sure you have version Opera 58.0.3135.65
Menu → Help → About Opera.
See you!

Hello,
It's the cookie settings that you need to put as an exception with CCleaner. (Cookies to keep)
For example, if you want to preserve the history of CCM:
The cookie management in the Opera options is enough to keep your history.
It is still advisable to delete cookies because of the spies hiding behind them.
They remember you. (targeting)

But concerning CCleaner, it's not him because, for years, I've always unchecked the box to erase history

Opera GX doesn't seem to work quite the same way or the time has brought its updates,
I can disable cookie deletion, but the form validation has two buttons: delete data or cancel, the entire settings system is designed to be totally counterintuitive, it takes talent to create blocks of links that lead to the same pop-up in the purest quality of anti-usability.
