Just to let you know, the current firmware of the player is 1.3.14
And the menus are not organized as nadelien describes: the options "Play Audio CD" or "Play DVD" appear in the Blu-ray menu and not in My Discs when the disc has been inserted.

In any case, I do not recommend using this player for audio CDs: there are micro-cuts between tracks: they last only 1 or 2 tenths of a second, but they are perfectly audible and make listening unbearable. (The separation of tracks does not always match the separation of songs).
And aside from this issue, the sound quality isn't great; it may be due to the quality of the digital-to-analog converter.

So if you can, look for other solutions to play your audio CDs.

Is it a CD or a DVD? If it's a CD, is it a CD that you burned yourself? (even if it's from a single original CD?)
1)The type of burning can play a big role, depending on whether the resulting CD needs to be readable on a PC, a home player, or other devices (players, gaming consoles, etc.)
2)The type of file (compression) is also important; some less commonly used file types may not be readable on certain devices (but it’s surprising that it wouldn’t work on the player v6)
Finally, you need to check if
3)the original CD wasn't protected, in which case, if the protection hasn't been "removed," the disk may not be recognized
4)Try with another disk, whether it's a CD or DVD, to verify that the lens is operational (dust, adjustment, etc.)
However, it seems that reading disks, regardless of type, is not the strong suit of the player v6.
At worst, if no disk works, you can request to exchange your player with Free.
