Unable to create Instagram account

Hello,
Bug with Instagram, unable to complete the creation of a new account!
The issue: I helped a friend create his account with his email and by choosing the desired username, which was available, so far so good.
He received the email saying "thank you for creating the account... and asking him to click on a "Set Password" button to create his password.
When he clicked, error page "Oops, an error has occurred". Since then, on all tested devices (several computers, several mobiles...), impossible.
So it's a bug with Insta, I presume.
Therefore, it's impossible to create the password.
I then tried the "forgot password" procedure: but it tells us that no account exists with that email, and the same with the chosen username.
I thought: let's try to register again > but it indicates that the email is already taken, and the same with the chosen username!
So we're stuck! And he really needs to open this Instagram account to launch an urgent campaign.
I could try to register using another email address, but what bothers me the most is that the username we chose is blocked!

I can't reach Instagram, the support email indicates in an automatic response that I need to go to the help pages, but I haven't found this issue in the help pages, and I couldn't find any contact form to reach them!

Can you help us?

Hello,

Have you tried uninstalling the mobile app and reinstalling it?
Have you tried clearing the browser cache with which you tried to connect?

=> clear the browser cache

Yes, I tried and I've been having this issue from several computers and different locations... and also on the mobile app.
I think the problem stems from the fact that we went through the registration procedure offered via Facebook (here: https://fr-fr.facebook.com/business/help/898752960195806) and in this procedure, you don’t choose a password at first; you receive an email to create it. It was at that moment that it bugged...
Instagram considers the account is created... but at the same time, the password recovery process is not functional...
We managed to create a new account with a different email and username via the standard Instagram registration page, but that doesn’t give me the solution to recover access to the first account and especially the first username...

So I suppose your friend has a professional Facebook page, have you tried deleting the created Instagram account anyway?

The links in password reset emails are time-sensitive. If you've received an email but still can't log in, try sending yourself a password reset email again.

If you copy the reset link or your new password, be careful not to add any extra spaces before pasting it into your browser or the login fields.
