3.5mm Stereo Jack Soldering

Hi,

The copper is uncovered, right? I can't see very well.

It should be the one that goes with the outside of the jack, the negative.

Then, normally, we have white and red, and the red is the right one, the one that goes in the middle,

And the green should go to the core, the point at the end of the jack.

If I'm not mistaken, you should be good this way.

If you're not sure and you can check the other end to see what connects to what.

The contacts for the headphones are when the contacts are facing up towards you, the positive on the right.

Okay thanks, I'm going to test it.
So if I understand correctly.
The copper on the small extension.
The green on the tip.
And the red in the middle? (between us, the red is strange...lots of red filaments and it looks like there's a copper wire around it. If you could zoom in on the photo).
I'm going to test the soldering in 48 hours and I'll keep you informed.

The problem is that my jack has only one extension and yet it's stereo. If you can take a look at my photo.
It's bothering me lol because it's my first soldering job...

and don’t forget to put on the mask before the welds, it's so easy to forget :)

It was a pain, I could have used a third hand... lol
Stuck in a clothespin with weight on top.

Or a store hanger with 2 clips. Also usable to keep open food bags closed ;-) .
